When printing, the SCX-3405w was usually between 200 ? 600W but dropped to less than 100W when the job was completed, before falling into a ready mode of about 4W.
The SCX-3405fw drops into sleep mode of about 3W within one minute of non-use. To use the printer again, simply hit print or press a button on the control panel. The printer will warm up for a few brief seconds (spiking as high as 800W) then begin to print or fall into ready mode.

Reviewing the SCX-3405fw so closely after its single function family member, the ML-2165w, really let me think about the similarities and differences and what they mean to a potential customer.
They share the same print speeds and print quality that earned the ML-2165w four and half stars in its review, but the SCX-3405fw comes with additional functionality and features that widen its target market.
Consider for $80, you get scan, copy and have fax capability as well as a larger processor with more standard memory, a 40-sheet automatic document feeder and additional connectivity options. It?s hard not to think of the SCX-3405fw as the real winner in this family.

Samsung offers a 1-year warranty for the SCX-3405fw, but if you register your product after purchase, Samsung will extend the warranty an extra three months free of charge.
