The Samsung CLX-4195fw is an easy to use multifunction color laser printer targeted at small and medium sized businesses.
Samsung had me out to their headquarters in New Jersey this summer to show off their new line of A3 and A4 printers and now we have two of the new models in our office for review.
Today, we’ll be sharing our full review of the CLX-4195fw Color Multifunction Printer, a 4-in-1 laser printer that offers print, scan, copy and fax functionality as well as print speeds up to 19 ppm, a 4.3-inch touchscreen, 50-sheet ADF, front side USB port and wireless connectivity.
And don’t forget to check back in for our first look of the Samsung ML-5512nd, the second of the two new models!
Build and Design
The CLX-4195fw is in the middle of the A4 lineup and its footprint reflects that, measuring in at 17 x 17 x 18-inches and easily fitting on a desktop. The design itself is typical of what we’ve seen from past Samsung models with a mixture of gray and black panels and the Samsung logo on the front.
The 50-sheet automatic document feeder resides on top of the device and users can print, scan or fax large documents up to 8.5 x 14-inches. Lift the ADF up to access the single sheet 8.5 x 11.7-inch flatbed scan glass.
The control panel runs across the front of the CLX-4195fw and centers on the 4.3-inch touchscreen. There is also an alphanumeric key pad and several quick keys. The front side USB port is located directly beneath the control panel.
Pull open the front panel and pull out the drawer to access the four toner cartridges (CMYK). The CLX-4195fw uses the new refined polymerized toner reducing the fusing temperatures, paper curl and energy consumption.
The CLX-4195fw offers a 250-sheet paper tray and a single sheet bypass tray that pull out from the front. The bypass tray is actually attached to the main paper tray.
The waste tray and the memory card are located on either side of the printer while all the connections are found on the back of the printer. You can also access the paper path from the back of the device.
