OKI Data Americas announced a complete refresh of their color LED line in late May with four new single function models: the C330dn, C530dn, C610 series, and the C711 series.

We featured a hands-on first look video of the C711n on the launch date and today we’ll be sharing our full review of the C711n single function color LED printer.  Find out if the C711n could be the perfect addition to your office now!

The OKI C711 series comes in three configurations: C711n (the model we are reviewing today), C711dn and the C711dtn.  All three models share the same base unit but the latter two include automatic duplexing and the C711dtn also includes an additional paper cassette standard.

With our C711n, OKI shipped two additional paper cassettes for the purpose of review.  Customers can purchase the base model C711n with two additional drawers to replicate the exact model we are featuring today but it will be more than the base model price of $1099.99.

The base unit, without the additional drawers, is fairly compact measuring in at about 17 x 22 x 15 inches.  If you include the two additional drawers, the dimensions are closer to 17 x 22 x 26 inches.

Since the C711 is a single function color printer, there isn’t much to the design.  A small control panel runs nearly the width of the printer and features a four line display with two directional arrow keys for navigation along with six quick keys including a power save/wake up key.

To the left of the control panel, there is a large gray button that gives users access to the CMYK toner cartridges.

The 100-sheet multipurpose tray is located beneath the control panel on the front of the C711n.  Pull out the tray and slide the blue handle to the left to engage the tray (a large arrow points the user in the correct direction).

Since all the paper drawers, including the standard drawer attached to the base unit, can print on media up to legal size, users will need to rotate the dial on the front of the drawer to correspond with the loaded media size.  The C711 does offer 52 inch banner printing through the multipurpose tray.

The standard paper capacity is 630 sheets (100-sheet multipurpose tray and 530-sheet main tray).  Each additional drawer can hold up to 530 sheets for a maximum paper capacity of 1,690 sheets as seen with our review unit.

The C711n offers a 533 MHz processor and a 256 MB of memory standard, going above both of our minimum requirements for a color business printer.

All connection ports are found on the back of the C711 base unit.  All three configurations in the C711 series offer built-in network connectivity along with a USB 2.0 port and a Parallel port for legacy users.
