BUILD AND DESIGN
The Lexmark Interpret is smaller and slightly more compact than its big sister, the Prestige. The Interpret’s dimensions are about 8 x 19 x 13 inches when folded up, but with the output and rear paper tray extended, the dimensions are about 12 x 19 x 21 inches.
The Interpret also has a different design than the top-of-the-line models. It’s slightly less stylish without the large touch screen control panel and mix of black and silver. The Interpret is mostly matte black with a light gray top panel and a silver Lexmark logo on the top left corner. All in all, it gives off a more efficient, home office vibe.
The 35-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) is on top, and is the only piece on the Interpret that’s glossy black. The ADF is compatible with documents ranging from A4 to letter to legal sized.
Beneath the ADF, users will find the 48-bit CIS flatbed scanner. The Interpret’s scanner has a resolution up to 1200 x 2400 dpi and can scan media up to 8.5 x 14 inches.
Lift the printer just above the control panel to access the inside of the Interpret. This is where you load four individual Lexmark 100 or 100XL cartridges (CMYK).
The large, adjustable control panel gives the Interpret an “office look” thanks to a one line display, numerical key pad (for faxes) and a few simple quick keys.
The built-in card reader is to the right of the control panel. The Interpret is compatible with the following media: Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, SD, MMC, xD (Type M, Type H), PictBridge-enabled digital cameras and USB flash drives.
The 6 inch-extendable output tray can hold up to 25 pages or 70 gsm bond.
Thee rear tray capacity is 100 pages, 20 pounds or 75 gsm bond. The rear tray has adjustable paper clasps that can support envelopes, cards, legal, letter, photo paper or any media up to 8.5 x 17 inches.
Users will find all connection ports on the back of the Interpret.
