The Officejet Pro X576dw is truly a laser class replacement with incredibly fast print speeds, excellent print quality and a range of business features.
HP unveiled the new Officejet Pro X series in late October as the next big thing in office inkjet printing. And when I got a sneak peek look at the Officejet Pro X series during the HP Printing Tech Day in Boise, it was confirmed that the Officejet Pro X series is a vast departure from anything I’ve seen in inkjet printing; print speeds, design, paper capacity, ink capacity, you name it, and HP has improved it.
Which is why we were beyond excited when HP sent us a HP Officejet Pro X576dw MFP a week before the official release date today. We’ll be sharing the results of all our lab tests, photos from our light tent and even some video of the Officejet Pro X576dw MFP in action.
So check out the next big thing in office inkjet printing now!
Build and Design
The HP Officejet Pro X576dw looks nothing like the typical all-in-one inkjet. While other inkjet manufacturers fight to offer the smallest footprint in their class, HP has reversed trends with the Officejet Pro X series and modeled these new devices after their laser counterparts.
The Officejet Pro X576dw comes in at 20 x 16 x 20 inches in non use but with the multipurpose tray extended on the left side, the front tray open and/or the output tray extension in use for legal size paper the dimensions are closers to 27 x 26 x 20 inches.
But beyond the sheer size, customers will notice some other new design elements including a large, 8.5 x 14 inch scan flatbed, a 50-sheet ADF, easy front loading inks, a unique detachable output tray (that can double as a storage unit for consumables) and a standard 500-sheet paper cassette with a 50-sheet multipurpose tray.
Of course, some things haven’t changed. The Officejet Pro X576dw has a 4.3-inch CGD touch screen that offers HP’s web-connected applications as well as access to the print, scan, copy and fax functionality. You’ll have access to HP’s mobile print solutions including HP ePrint if you choose one of two network connectivity options (Ethernet and Wi-Fi).
But perhaps the biggest story surrounding the Officejet Pro X576dw is the sheer size of the ink cartridges. HP’s standard capacity 970/971 ink cartridges (CMYK) offer page yields up to 3,000 and 2,500 sheets, respectively. Not impressed? Customers can purchased high yield 970XL/971XL ink cartridges and expect page yields up to 9,200 and 6,600 sheets, respectively.
