But how will the compact Stylus NX515 perform?  Can it live up to Epson’s lofty advertisements?  Read our full review now to find out!

The Stylus NX515 is sleeker than past Epson models I’ve reviewed; its approximate dimensions when in “storage” mode are 17.5 x 13.5 x 7.  In “printing” mode, the measurements expand to 17.5 x 20 x 12 to accommodate the rear tray and the output tray.

But like past models, the outer casing is done in black with some silver accents and a small Epson logo across the scanner lid.

The Stylus NX515 has a 48-bit scanner with an optical resolution up to 2400 dpi and a maximum resolution up to 9600 x 9600 dpi interpolated.  The color flatbed scans documents up to 8.5 x 11 inches.

To the left of the scanner is a full control panel and 2.5 inch tilt LCD.  The power button along with four main menu buttons reside below the Tilt LCD.  Below the main menu buttons you’ll find the menu guide with four directional arrows, ok, menu, back and plus/minus buttons.  The setup, display, clear, and start buttons are located at the bottom of the control panel.

The 100-sheet fold out paper tray is located behind the scanner on the Stylus NX515 with a maximum paper size of 8.5 x 14 inches.

The output tray is located below the scanner and it folds out when the printer is in use.

The built-in memory card reader is to the left of the fold out output tray.  The Stylus NX515 supports the following cards: Compact Flash, Microdrive, Memory Stick, MagicGate Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, SD, SDHC, MultiMediaCard, and xD-Picture Cards (Type-M, Type-M+, and Type-H).

Install the four individual DURABrite Ultra pigment ink cartridges by lifting the scanner body; when replacing cartridges access the ink container through the Setting menu on the control panel.

The 802.11n Wired Ethernet and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connections are found on the back left corner of the Stylus NX515.
