Energy Tests
During our energy tests with the MF3010, our meter showed wattage all over the board when it came to its energy usage (as most laser printers will). During “ready” mode or when the printer is running but not printing or doing any other work, it stands at 2 watts. When printing in the default print mode, we measured 115-370 watts, but it mostly stayed in the 300-370 watt range. While printing in toner saver mode, we pulled numbers in the 250-360 range. The energy during warmup or printer startup was in the 120-200 range. The MF3010 is Energy Star qualified.

The Canon imageCLASS MF3010 is a small office, home office monochrome multifunction laser printer. It can print, scan, and copy and has some great features such as watermarking documents and ID card copy. The MF3010 has a compact form factor that won’t take up too much space on your desk and provides great print speeds at 17 ppm to help with office productivity. The quality of the color scanning was also one of the perks of this machine.

During our tests, however, we found that the output tray was too small in length to hold an excess of its paper output. At times, when there were about 20 or so pages in the tray, paper would fall out because it could not hold that amount properly. There was also a disturbance in the print quality; we found that all of our prints had a blotted-out area down the middle of the page.
