Dell today revealed a few new additions to its business-oriented Latitude line, including the new Latitude 6430u Ultrabook. The new device will look to add the same reliability and enterprise-class precision that the series is known for, while simultaneously remaining appealing to consumers.
Built for mobility the 6430u will be 33 percent slimmer and 16 percent lighter than the current generation of 14-inch notebooks. The notebook will also boast an impressive battery life, as the 2007 Mobil Mark benchmark test showed the device capable of providing a full days' worth of productivity with a single charge. However, don't let the small size of this device fool you, as the machine will offer exceptional durability thanks to its comprehensive design. The 6430u was designed to meet MIL-STD-810G testing, a United States Military test standard that subjugates systems to harsh conditions.
The 6430u will run on Windows 8, and the device will be available for the launch of the new OS, which is scheduled to hit shelves October 25. Unfortunately, there is still no information regarding pricing and set release dates at this point, but Dell assures consumers that the information will be released once it is available.
