HTC One (M8) for Windows

  |   by NotebookReview Staff

The HTC One (M8) for Windows brings HTC’s flagship to Windows Phone. In terms of hardware, this version is the exact same as the Android model as it comes with a 5-inch display, dual 4-megapixel cameras, and a metal body. The smartphone runs on Windows 8.1.1, which has received only minor tweaks here.

  • Pros

    • Excellent build
    • Vibrant, sharp display
    • Best speakers on the market
  • Cons

    • Windows Phone is still lacking
    • Mediocre main camera
    • Minor setbacks with performance and battery life

Quick Take

The HTC One (M8) for Windows retains much of what made the original One (M8) one of the best phones of the year, making it a top choice for those already invested in Windows Phone. If you're platform agnostic, though, it's best to avoid the many handicaps that continue to plague Microsoft's mobile OS.
