Lenovo IdeaPad U400

  |   by NotebookReview Staff

The Lenovo IdeaPad U400 is a 14-inch Apple MacBook Pro competitor with a slim form factor. At less than an inch thick, the U400’s MRSP is less than the 13-inch Pro and just as portable. Users can customize it to include one of three second-generation Intel processors, Intel HD or AMD Radeon graphics, and up to 8GB DDR3 memory.

  • Pros

    • Good build quality
    • Good battery life
    • Solid overall performance
  • Cons

    • No keyboard backlighting
    • Anemic display
    • No media card reader
    • Not user upgradeable

Quick Take

The Lenovo IdeaPad U400 offers good looks and good performance at a fair price, but an average screen and lack of media card reader might kill the deal.
