Lenovo IdeaPad Y510P: Conclusion
Conclusion
With its portable form factor, strong performance and affordable price point the Lenovo IdeaPad Y510P delivers on all fronts. Equipped with dual NVidia GT 750M GPUs, 16GB of RAM and a 2.2 GHz fourth generation i7 processor the Y510P is able to tackle most functions including new games with consistent performance.
Weighing in at only 6lbs. the Y510P is incredibly mobile for a gaming device. Unfortunately that mobility is severely hampered by the Y510P’s lack of battery life. In all other areas the Y510P has the make of a great general-use device, but the 2 hour battery life holds it back from delivering on the day-to-day.
However, as an affordable gaming Notebook the Lenovo Y510P is top notch. The pair of SLI-enabled GPUs can easily run most games on the market, and users can expect high-end performance from SLI-enabled games and software. Sure there are more powerful devices on the market, but consumers will be hard pressed to find many gaming rigs that offer the same performance to price ration found in the Lenovo Y510P.
Pros:
- Portable Design (for gaming notebook)
- Versatility via Ultrabay
- Solid Performance at Affordable Price
Cons:
- Poor Battery Life
You can get the Lenovo Y510p from the Lenovo website for only $899 now. Don’t use Amazon or any other dealer. I’ve checked them all, and they are hundreds of dollars more expensive.

WARNING TO ALL USERS;
This laptop is superb and will last you for years only one huge problem, you cant purchase official Ultrabays from any source including Lenovo!
Reviews from all media sources claims this statement to be untrue but the proof is in the fact Lenovo says they don’t make them anymore yet this site and others say you can upgrade the unit and you cant they should issue a warning on this or get a statement from Lenovo regarding this.
The example being the ultra bay optical drive is a DB36 the web is full of Lenovo users who cant source the part?
Was this all hype and miss-selling on the part of Lenovo?
Notebook review should not endorse products that can not deliver what it claimed was possible and should retract reviews if found not to be correct perhaps they were taken in as we the loyal Lenovo customers were!
