Xerox announced today the addition of several new customizable multifunction laser printers designed to enhance business workflow by increasing productivity and reducing costs.

Targeted for SMB, the new WorkCentre 7120 color multifunction printer (MFP) features print, scan and copy standard with optional fax capability, and according to HP, is considered one of its “easiest to own” models.

Even as an entry level printer, the WorkCentre 7120 is equipped with plenty of features to make life in the office easier, including: print speeds up to 20 ppm in both black and color, a front side USB port, networking capability, 110 page ADF, automatic duplex, a standard paper capacity of 1,090 sheets, and a 7-inch color touch panel with a customizable user interface.

Also included with the WorkCentre 7120 are Xerox’s Centreware web server and Earth Smart printer drivers. Thanks to a small carbon footprint and an energy efficient design, the WorkCentre 7120 uses only 3.08 watts of power in sleep mode and uses Xerox’s next generation of environmentally friendly EA-HG toner.

For the high end of the SMB market, Xerox offers additional paper capacity up to 2,130 sheets, as well optional wireless connectivity.

Xerox also announced the new WorkCentre 5700 monochrome MFP series designed for small businesses and workgroups or large enterprises, thanks to a wide array of speed models and custom features.

The series consist of seven different speed models ranging from the base model of 35 ppm to the flagship at 90 ppm.  All seven models feature print, scan, copy and fax capabilities, including color scanning and a large color touchscreen.

The new models have some of Xerox’s most business-savvy features, including Print Around, which allows print jobs to continue even if the first job is impeded due to lack of supplies. The WorkCentre 5700 series also highlights several security features such as Secure Print, where a PIN number is needed to release a job, and Image Overwrite, where information is scrubbed from the disk.

All the new MFPs announced today are built on Xerox’s Extensible Interface Platform, backed by Xerox’s Total Satisfaction Guarantee, Energy Star qualified, and are part of the Xerox Green World Alliance.

The WorkCentre 7120 color MFP will be available in the Americas through Xerox direct sales and authorized resellers starting in May for the suggested retail starting price of $6,999. Overseas markets can currently purchase the WorkCentre 7120.

The WorkCentre 5700 monochrome MFP series will be available worldwide through Xerox direct sales and authorized resellers starting in May for the suggested retail starting price of $7,475.
