Xerox recently introduced eConcierge, a cloud-based solution and free service that helps small and medium-size businesses keep track of monitoring and ordering printer and multifunction printer (MFP) supplies.
The convenient service is designed to monitor supplies for selected networked printers and MFPs from Xerox and other vendors, such as Brother, HP, lexmark and Samsung.
Xerox eConcierge is downloaded as a desktop application, called the Supplies Assistant, onto one or more PCs or Macs. The program automatically discovers compatible devices – users can select which printers to monitor. The application then checks the toner, ink, waste cartridges and fusers then the service informs users when supplies are needed and an online order that captures the correct part numbers for the manufacturer’s supplies is generated.
Prior to reordering the user gets a pop-up alert reminder to review and approve the pre-populated supplies options. Orders can be placed and paid for with a credit card.
The Xerox eConcierge service also provides a free service reward for eligible Xerox printers. The vendor provides free standard extended service coverage for each eligible Xerox printer and MFP.
Qualification for the free service reward requires that a user use the eConcierge service for a minimun of 30 days and with a second supply order for each Xerox product the extended service coverage begins. Xerox provides free exteneded service coverage over the normal supported life of that Xerox product as long as the user continues placing supply orders through the eConcierge service.
Rewards coverage is worth $320 or more per year for each eligible Xerox printer or MFP, according to the vendor.
