Xerox adds desktop printers to ColorQube lineup

Xerox announced the addition of two desktop sized solid ink products, the ColorQube 8570 and the ColorQube 8870, to the ColorQube lineup early this morning.

The new products are a part of Xerox’s unique solid ink line which features resin-based wax-like cartridges that melt down eliminating the need for the plastic cartridges found in most inkjet and laser-class units today.

The ColorQube 8570 offers print speeds up to 40 pages per minute (ppm), a monthly duty cycle up to 85,000 images, built-in networking, a 1 GHz processor with 512 MB of standard memory, a 625-sheet paper tray and Xerox’s Color by Words color editing tool.

The ColorQube 8870 also offers print speeds up to 40 ppm as well as a monthly duty cycle up to 120,000 images, automatic duplexing, built-in networking, 1 GHz processor with 512 MB of standard memory, print resolution up to 2400 FinePoint image quality, a 625-sheet standard paper cassette and Color by Words color editing tool.

Both models are Energy Star qualified and feature the Earth Smart print driver found across Xerox’s entire lineup of print devices.

The ColorQube 8570 and the ColorQube 8870 are available now through Xerox direct sales and authorized vendors for the respective starting prices of $699 and $2,499.
