ViewSonic Reveals 22-inch Android Smart Display
View Sonic celebrated its 25th anniversary in London this week, where it unveiled its newest smart display, the VSD220.
The VSD220 is ViewSonic’s new all-in-one smart display. The actual ‘display’ part of the device will conisist of a 21.5-inch, LED-backlit touchscreen monitor with a native resolution of 1980×1080. The device also houses a dual-core, 1GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.
The smart display will run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and is Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz 802.11/b/g/n), Ethernet (10/100Mbps), and Bluetooth (2.1) compatible. The display will also offer two USB 2.0 and one micro-USB Port. The VSD220 can also double as a standard PC monitor, as a micro-HDMI port will be available. Finally, the device will also offer a micro-SD card slot, a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera and a pair of stereo speakers.
The VSD220 is expected to be available in North America sometime between mid-to-late October for around $400.
