VIA to Bridge Netbooks and Notebooks with NetNote

VIA is hoping to create another mobile market segment between netbooks and notebooks. NetNote will combine netbook pricing and portability with the functionality afforded by a full-size notebook. NetNote will have screen sizes ranging from 10.2 – 12.1 inches, support 1080p video playback, and have VIA C7-M ULV or VIA Nano processors. Optional features include 3G wireless and an HDMI port.
Below are some general specifications of the NetNote platform:

  • Processor: VIA C7-M ULV or VIA Nano
  • Chipset: VIA VX855 Media System processor
  • Display: 10.2 – 12.1 inches, up to 1366×768 internal or 1920×1440 external resolution
  • Graphics: VIA Chrome9 with up to 512MB shared memory
  • RAM: Up to 2GB DDR2-667/800, one So-DIMM
  • Battery: 3-cell (24.4Wh) or 6-cell (48.8Wh), 10.8V
  • SIM card support
