Take Our Survey! Tuning in to the future of PCs and entertainment
Media center PCs have been around for a while, letting users record and watch television shows, stream their favorite music, and download audio and video files from the Internet ? all from one, tightly-integrated system that, by the way, is still a personal computer.
The latest twist in media convergence is the development of dedicated media and entertainment systems that are born and bred for visual and audio entertainment easily connected to your high-definition television, and in many cases function as the hub of a powerful media network. Apple TV is one, slick example of the future of television and entertainment.? It not only streams content to your wall-size flat screen, but can channel video and audio content to your iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.
Devices like this, and the more recent D-Link Boxee, also feature entertainment storefronts and libraries that allow you to pick and choose audio, video and games for the ultimate armchair pay-per-view experience.
All of this media activity is not only driving new hardware and software development, but is shifting more attention to high-definition large-screen televisions and monitors as the ultimate means of media consumption.? We?d like to know what you?re your thoughts on the PC-TV evolution, and invite you to take a few minutes to complete our survey. We’ll share the results, so stay tuned!
