At the CES 2006 show Toshiba had on display the next generation 17″ screen Qosmio notebook with the new Intel Core Duo processor and an HD-DVD drive. Also on display was the Portege M400 Tablet PC, the first Tablet PC device to carry an Intel dual core processor.

Toshiba hasn’t announced a model number for the new dual core processor Qosmio yet, but they did have the dual core Qosmio notebook on display and say it will be available in about the March time frame. Some anticipated basic specs for this machine are as follows:
- Intel Core Duo processor
- HD-DVD drive
- nVidia GeForce Go 7800
- 17-inch widescreen (glossy finish)
- Dolby surround sound
- Windows Media Center 2005
- Integrated Analog TV Tuner
Toshiba Portege M400 Tablet PC
Also on display from Toshiba was the Portege M400 Tablet PC notebook convertible device. The M400 is a follow up to the M200 Tablet PC that’s currently available. The M400 should be available in about the February/March time frame. The M400 will be the first Tablet PC to carry the new Intel Core Duo Napa platform processor.
