Toshiba announced several new budget-priced notebooks for school, home, and on-the-go today. Toshiba states that there will be a notebook for “every budget and member of the family” this holiday season within the lineup. The notebooks include the C600, L700, L735D, and the P700 series, and the mini NB505 netbook.
Satellite C600 Series: Entry-Level Laptops
The Satellite C600 series is for consumers who have basic productivity needs. The series is available in 15.6- or 17.3-inch displays and come equipped with AMD APUs, Intel Pentium or Core i3 processors. The notebooks can also come with up to 640GB hard drives and a maximum of 4GB DDR3 memory. The port selection includes two USB 2.0 and DVD Super-Multi optical drives. The Satellite C600 series starts at $349.
Satellite L700 Series: For Students or Home
Toshiba states that the Satellite L700 series would be good for families or students. The series is available in 13.3-, 14-, 15.6-, and 17.3-inch sizes. The notebooks can be configured with an Intel dual-core processor or an AMD dual or quad-core APU. Hard drive capacity reaches 640GB and Toshiba states that the notebooks can be customized with “plenty of memory.” The L700 series starts at $455.
Satellite L735D Series: Notebooks Designed for Children
The L735D notebooks have features that help protect the notebooks from damage caused by children. Some of these features includes a wipeable keyboard to easily clean messes and smudges and a fingerprint-resistant, non-glossy “Neo X” finish. The notebook also comes with a hard drive impact sensor to help protect against data loss or failure. The L735D has a 13.3-inch display, 320GB hard drive, integrated webcam, DVD drive, and an AMD E-Series processor. The Satellite L735D series of notebooks are only available from Best Buy and start at $498.
Satellite P700 Series: Entertainment Notebooks
The P700 multimedia notebooks can come equipped with either a second-generation Intel Core processor or the latest processing technology from AMD. They are available in 14-, 15.6-, and 17.3-inch diagonal display sizes. They also come equipped with Harman/Kardon audio, an optional Blu-ray player, and Intel Wireless Display technology. The notebooks have Toshiba’s Fusion X2 finish and start out at $630.
Mini MB505 Netbook
The Mini MB505 netbook has Toshiba’s familiar “clamshell” design and an “easy grip” finish. Toshiba states that the netbooks have an ultraportable form factor, deliver great battery life, and large hard drives. They come configured with Intel Atom processors. The Mini NB505 sells for $300.
The notebooks will be available in the beginning of October from major retailers on-site and online and from ToshibaDirect.com.
