The One Laptop per Child organization recently announced the "Give One Get One" program in which you can spend $399 to donate an OLPC laptop to a child in the developing world and also get an OLPC laptop yourself. T-Mobile is now teaming with OLPC to offer 1-year of T-Mobile Wi-Fi access, at locations such as Starbucks, to anyone that participates in this program.
You can visit http://www.laptopgiving.org to see more about the details of the Give One Get One program. The program launches on November 12th and runs through November 26th. When the laptop you order arrives to you it will include instructions on how to activate your one-year complimentary T-Mobile HotSpot access. For a one-year HotSpot contract with T-Mobile it’s usually $29.99 a month, a total of $359.88 for a year. So if you figure the cost of donating and getting a laptop is $399, and factor in you’re getting a $359.88 value Wi-Fi plan, it turns into not only a feel good deal (the whole providing a child with a laptop in the developing world) but also a sweet one in terms of value for you.
