Sony launched two new gaming headsets this week aimed at enthusiast PC gamers. The DR-GA200 and DR-GA500 offer users 40mm drivers with a “triple unfolding design” and a compact boom microphone.
The Sony DR-GA200 is a standard, if sexy, pair of stereo headphones. The DR-GA500 kicks it up a notch with a couple of special audio decoders. A Dolby Pro Logic IIx decoder is paied up with Sony’s virtual audio tech to generate a 7.1 surround setup with just the drivers present in the headset.
Prices and exact release dates aren’t available, but Sony is currently planning on mid-October. Each headset will ship with a copy of the upcoming Medal of Honor first-person shooter.
