Seattle Tops Chart of Most Un-Wired Cities (top 100 cities list)

by Reads (4,777)

Intel has just released their list of most Un-wired cities in America and Seattle has taken the top spot away from San Francisco, last year’s winner. Intel credits the continued growth of hotspots and WiFi usage to wireless enabled notebooks, PDAs, Tablet PCs, Smartphones and other mobile devices. Built-in WiFi is on the rise in all of these segments, and will even reach 100% saturation in laptops by 2007.

Beyond wireless growth in mobile devices, hotspots are popping up everywhere from the more mundane places like cafes and coffee shops, to ski slopes and sporting venues.

A few interesting notes:
This year’s #19 Baton Rouge, La. made the biggest jump overall, climbing 67 spots from its #86 ranking last year.
