This week at CES Seagate Mobile announced a partnership with Lenovo to deliver the YOGA 2. The company will help power the portable PC with its Seagate Laptop Ultrathin HDD.

Taking advantage of Seagate’s incredibly thin 5mm HDD, Lenovo will be able to incorporate a more affordable storage option into what was originally a SSD only device. Starting at $530 the YOGA 2 is far more affordable than the recent Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2 Pro, and will boast the highest-capacity available in a small, ultra-thin form factor.

With 500GB of storage the Seagate 2.5-inch Laptop Ultrathin HDD will be capable of supporting over 100,000 photos, 125,000 songs or 62 hours of high-definition video and movies. The HDD will boast an incredibly compact form factor at 5mm thin and weighing in at a mere 3.3oz, which will allow the drive to be utilized in portable ultrathin designs and new emerging applications like convertible and detachable storage.
