Sculpteo and Autodesk have partnered to create Autodesk 123D Creature, a new iPad application that allows customers to create and print their favorite 3D characters.

The Autodesk 123D Creature app lets users create their 3D character with a simple skeleton creator using digital clay. With the iPad’s touch surface, users can thicken, stretch and sculpt the creatures then airbrush or adorn textures from their own iPad photo library.

Once completed, users can add finishing touches including customized lighting and shadows, filters and background photos to share their creature digitally or order a 3D print of their creature through the Sculpteo service. The creature can be printed in various sizes and over 45 different materials making the character more unique.

The Autodesk 123D Creature app is available through the Apple App Store for the special introductory pricing of $1.99. The suggested retail pricing is $7.99.
