As I mentioned the previous article, Samsung Electronics had me out to their headquarters in New Jersey last month to get a sneak peek of the new line of A3 and A4 printers they announced this morning.
The A3 lineup consisted of five new color and monochrome multifunction models that will be sold through the channel in an effort on Samsung’s part to partner with dealers to sell products as opposed to selling them directly to clients.
All five models offer the intuitive 7-inch touch screen user interface with a touch scroll modeled after popular smart phones on the market with 40 customizable shortcuts and background images, a 1 GHz dual core Samsung chip solution, two 520-sheet cassettes, a 100-sheet multipurpose tray and are network ready.
Samsung has also streamlined the setup process for these larger machines reducing typical installation times of 45 minutes to 20 minutes thanks to a single box shipment and a preinstalled ADF.
The monochrome SCX-8123NA and SCX-8128NA will offer print, copy and scan functionality up to 11×17-inches with print speeds up to 23 ppm and 28 ppm, respectively.
The color CLX-9201NA, CLX-9251NA and CLX-9301 will offer print, copy and scan functionality up to 11×17-inches with print speeds up to 20 ppm, 25 ppm and 30 ppm, respectively.
All the new models can be upgraded with optional add-ons including: the Job Separator tray that separate print jobs and the Inner Finisher 50-sheet finisher that offers collating and stacking capabilities without adding bulk to the basic footprint of each model.
The SCX-8123NA and SCX-8128NA are expected to be available in July 2012 for the MSRP of $3900 and $5540, respectively. The CLX-9201NA, CLX-9251NA and CLX-9301NA are also expected to be available in July 2012 for the MSRP of $6310, $7330 and $8270, respectively.
