Samsung Electronics America Inc. announced enhancements to its MobilePrint App, most notably support for iOS mobile devices.
Originally introduced in January 2011, Samsung’s MobilePrint App targeted Android and Windows devices. The updated iOS version of the mobile app allows users to print a variety of documents directly from their mobile devices without the need to install specific device drivers or use an external server or email, according to the company.
The plug and play MobilePrint app provides secure and easy printing and scanning via a Wi-Fi access point to any Samsung printer on a local-area network. The free download allows authorized users to print, scan, review, sign and share printed documents, attachments, travel itineraries and web content, for example, from their smartphones or tablets.
Samsung’s announcement includes additional enhancements, as well:
- Printing Microsoft documents – PowerPoint, Excel and WordPrint documents that are attached to email
- Print documents from the cloud
- Print from Google Docs
- Select individual pages to print
- Print files shared from other apps
- Rearrange the icons on the main screen
The enhanced MobilePrint App is available for free on iOS, Android and Windows-based devices from the relevant app store or marketplace.
