Samsung announced they will be releasing the Samsung MobilePrint app, a wireless print application for Android and iOS mobile devices earlier today at their press conference in Las Vegas.
The MobilePrint app will allow users with Android devices – including smartphones and tablets – to print e-mails, web pages, maps, photos, Office documents and PDF files directly to any Samsung wireless printer.
In addition, users can also download the MobilePrint/Scan app which will allow scanned documents to be reviewed and edited from an Android or iOS mobile device by either detecting the documents on a local multi-function printer or by having the scanned document sent to the mobile device by the MFP user.
The Samsung MobilePrint app announcement comes hot on the heels of Canon who released a wireless print application for Android users in 2010.
Samsung’s MobilePrint app will be available for free download; consumers picking up the Galaxy Tab will notice the MobilePrint app is automatically built in. The new app is compatible with all Samsung wireless and network printers.
