Print Audit, a developer of print tracking and auditing software, has launched its Print Audit Secure print management service designed to help companies reduce costs and improve document security.
According to the Calgary, Alberta-based company, Print Audit Secure helps organizations eliminate stacks of unclaimed print jobs and increase document security without having to make modifications to their print environment.
According to Print Audit, the average user prints six wasted pages per day or 1,410 pages per year. Using Print Audit Secure, a job only gets printed when the user is ready to pick it up at the device thus eliminating waste and the risk of exposing confidential information.
Print Audit Secure captures and holds print jobs via client software that is deployed to individual workstations and also requires installation of a server component that is installed on a single computer on the network.
Users release print jobs at the printer or manage print jobs by logging into the Secure Web Portal through any device with web access including PC workstations, tablet PCs or smartphones.
With Print Audit Secure, every printer is assigned a two to five character code, or Printer ID. Smartphone users enter the Printer ID to send a job o a specific printer.
Print Audit Secure helps organizations maintain compliance with HIPAA and Sarbanes Oxley, according to the company.
