Panasonic Introduces Two Laser MFPs

Panasonic System Networks Company of America introduced two laser all-in-one multifunction printers (MFPs) that target the home-based businesses.

The new devices, the KX-MB1500 and KX-MB1520 both offer print, copy and scan with a fax feature available only on the KX-MB1520. Both devices feature a reduced-size print engine, an inner paper-exit tray, front-panel access to consumables such as toner and paper, and a side-mounted power connector.

The new MFPs offer print/copy speeds of 18 pages per minute (ppm) with 600 x 600 dpi resolution; 32MB memory and supports Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/7/Windows Vista as well as Mac OS X 10.5-10.6 *3, and Linux *3.

Designed to fit into home business environments, the devices are compact with a slim back design, and include with one-touch buttons located on the front control panel.

The MFPs also offer an Easy Print Utility, or multi-document print application, that allows users to merge multiple file types such as Microsoft Word and Excel files into a single print job or PDF file. The Easy Print Utility also provides a real-time preview of the print output and offers the ability to modify the print layout or page order.

The KX-MB 1500 series features color scanning with versatile scanning output such as viewer, file, email or OCR (which requires OCR software.) Scanning is supported in TIFF, JPEG, PDF and BMP formats.

The products are priced at $124.95 for the KX-MB1500 and $149.95 for the KX-MB1520, according to the company.
