Panasonic Enters Personal Document Scanner Market

In a move that will expand its footprint as a provider of document management and imaging solutions, Panasonic introduced two new personal document scanners for small and medium-size businesses.

The new KV-S1026C and KV-S1015C personal workgroup document scanners are compact and easy to use desktop devices that round out the vendors existing scanner solutions that include products for workgroups, departments, low volume production, and high volume production.

Both devices scan plastic cards continuously through the automatic document feeder as well as scan paper documents along with a hard ID card in a single batch using the mixed card batch guide.

The KV-S1026C features color scanning speed of 30 pages per minute (ppm)/60 images per minute (ipm), binary scanning speed of 20 ppm/40 ipm and optical resolution of 300 dpi/600 dpi.

The device also offers a number of advanced features such as a cutting-edge paper feed mechanism equipped with Ultrasonic Double-Feed Detection and an Active Double-Feed Prevention Roller system for reliable document feeding.

Panasonic Image Capture Plus software is included and helps streamline document management.

The KV-S1015C offers color scanning speed of 20 ppm/60 ipm, a binary scanning speed of 20 ppm/40 ipm and optical resolution of 300 dpi/600 dpi.

It also comes bundled with Presto! PageManager 9 software for document management and filing connectivity, featuring the ability to convert documents to searchable PDF files while providing access to cloud-based services such as Evernote and Google Drive.

Both personal scanners are available through authorized resellers at an MSRP of $595 for the KV-S1026C and $495 for the KV-S1015C.
