Origin PC Debuts New, More Powerful Laptops
Origin PC announced its latest offerings today, including the lightest desktop-processor powered laptops the company has ever built. The EON17-X and the EON15-X will run Intel desktop processors (supporting up to an Intel Core i7 4790K) on Z97 chipsets – and both are also roughly 40 percent thinner and 30 percent lighter than their predecessors.
As is usual for Origin PC, the laptops are designed for high-level gaming: They will support CPU overclocking and are reinforced with NVIDIA’s Maxwell-powered graphics cards (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M, or 970M.) The devices also support 4K resolution via external displays.
Additionally, Origin PC announced the EON15-S today, another update to a previous model. Like the EON17-X and the EON15-X, the EON15-S will feature support for m.2 PCIe drive. The 15-S is more than 35 percent thinner and 25 percent lighter than its predecessors, while still making room for an integrated Intel Core i7-4720HQ processor as well as an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M 4GB VRAM graphics card. The three devices – which are all customizable – are available at Origin PC’s website.
