The MB491+LP is the latest addition to the A4 monochrome multifunction printer (MFP) line from OKI Data Americas.

OKI Data positions the MB491+LP in its MB401MFP Series of black and white MFPs for desktop applications, along with the MB461, MB471 and MB471w and MB491.

The new MFP targets small workgroups and small offices, and combines black and white printing and copying, color/mono scanning, including legal documents on the glass, and analog faxing.

The MB491+LP features print speeds up to 47 pages per minute (ppm) and copying up to 40 copies per minute (cpm), with a time-to-first-page in about 5 seconds, according to the vendor. The device also comes with duplex printing/copying and a 50-sheet reversing document feeder.

The MFP has a monthly duty cycle of 80,000 pages and 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution.

Productivity enhancements include multi-tasking functionality such as scanning while the unit is printing or printing during fax communications. The MFP also has a job Macro function that records and recalls frequently used tasks and settings. The Macro function is accessible on the operator panel.

The operator panel is a backlit 3.5-inch LCD display with 1-touch function buttons, alphanumeric keypad and full Qwerty keyboard. Ethernet and USB connectivity is standard, including a walk-up USB slot.

Document management utilities such as PaperPort and OmniPage by Nuance PaperPort software enables users to organize scanned files while PaperPort allows users to save scanned documents in a PDF or JPEG format and make them available for archiving or sharing.
