OKI Data Americas Adds Wireless Connectivity

Customers of the B700 series of monochrome printers from OKI Data Americas will soon be able to add wireless printing functionality to their devices, including the OKI B730n, the model we reviewed last year.

On March 15, 2012, the vendor will make the user-installable wireless option available for purchase for a list price of $311.
The new add-on wireless card that allows users to connect to a local wireless network is compatible with the OKI Data B700 Series of printers, including models B710, B720 and B730. The new functionally enables wireless printing from anywhere in the office from mobile devices such as laptops, smartphones and tablets, for added productivity. This B700 Series printers targets small- and mid-sized workgroups.

The OKI Data B700 Series of energy-efficient monochrome printers offer up to 52 page per minute (ppm) printing with the first page appearing in 7.9 seconds, according to the company. Monthly duty cycle is up to 275,000 pages or 13,750 pages per workday. Device resolution is 1200 x 1200 dpi.

Models vary with several offering duplex-equipped printing and all models print up to 95 envelopes without the need for a separate external feeder. The B700 Series features a 600 MHz processor and 128MB standard RAM upgradable to 640MB of RAM.

Product pricing begins at $625.99, according to the company.
