OKI Data Americas annouced today that its proColor Series will include the pro920WHT tabloid/A3 digital color printer; set for availability in early July. With the new printer comes the ability to produce direct imaging prints on dark, color, clear, or with cling film copy with the new white toner, as well as other new features. The printer will work with media such as posters and signs, banners, films, and other visual graphics art and audience-oriented copy.
Users of the A3 digital printer will have the option to print with the “first or last” feature, which will allow them to set when the white toner will go into the print on the color or dark copy. Other features will be the “overprint” and “underprint,” allowing for control of the location of the white toner within the arrangement of color on the page.
According to OKI, the printer will reach speeds of 31 pages per minute in color and 36 ppm in single-channel or black ink and will boast an HD 1200 x 600 dpi resolution. When it comes to select graphics arts sellers and partners in July, it will carry a list price of $7495 and will come with an OKI Data one-year onsite warranty.
