Nvidia Announces GeForce 400M Series Graphics
Nvidia has announced its latest line of graphics processors for notebook computers, the GeForce 400M series. The 400M series is based on the 40nm Fermi mircoarchitecture and supports Microsoft DirectX 11, CUDA, PhysX, and Nvidia Optimus graphics-switching technology. Nvidia claims the 400M series is up to 40% faster than the GeForce 200M/300M series parts they replaced.
The following graphics cards have been announced:
- Performance Models
- GT 445M
- GT 435M
- Enthusiast Models
- GTX 470M
- GTX 460M
They join the already-announced GTX 480M, which is the single-fastest notebook chip on the market.
Most mainstream notebook makers should have GeForce 400M-equipped notebooks out on the market soon.
