Did you feel a powerful change in the forums? NotebookReview‘s Discussion Forums recently hit the 500,000-member mark, reaching a new milestone for our most active user forum. The forum has logged more than 588,000 threads and close to 7.2m posts from all types of members, ranging from computing newbies to advanced technology pros and business users.

Since clocking 500,000 members about a week ago, NBR’s Forums have already added hundreds more people to this highly active peer community. In fact, the forum averages about 85,000 new sign-ups per year, notes TechnologyGuide’s Director of Community, Chris Leonard.

“Although I’ve built and managed a number of forums, the size, scope, and stability of NotebookReview is something I find astounding,” Leonard said. “This forum has the most helpful, knowledgeable and engaged membership that I’ve come across.  Questions get asked and answered often within minutes.”

NBR’s Forums, as well as the forums related to TechnologyGuide‘s five other product news and review sites, will undergo major upgrades over the next few months, including moving to a more robust software platform, improving the user interface and adding a plethora of new tools.

“The upgrades to the forums will be dynamic and comprehensive.” Leonard points out. “They will include many tools and improvements that our members have requested along with enhancements that I know will truly delight the user base.”

Naturally, we’re very excited about the continued growth across our forum communities, now numbering close to 900,000 in total, and the improvement that will take place over the coming months. We’d like to thank our dedicated moderators and subscribers for contributing to the success, and invite others to roll up their sleeves, subscribe and join the discussion as we reach new heights in providing interesting and useful information to our communities.
