The Everex VA1500V gBook notebook is now available for $399. It features a 15.4-inch 1440×900 widescreen display, VIA C7-M 1.5GHz processor, VIA Chrome9 HC integrated graphics, 512MB RAM, 60GB hard drive, DVD/CDRW combo drive, and 802.11b/g wireless. It weighs 5.3 lbs with a 3-cell battery. The operating system is gOS V2, which is based on Linux.

SanDisk FlashBack Automatically Backs Up Notebook Data

SanDisk today announced its FlashBack backup adapter for notebooks is now available. It goes into an ExpressCard/34 slot and protects against unexpected PC failure or hard drive crashes. The device automatically and continuously backs up and encrypts data onto SD or SDHC cards. It carries an MSRP of $29.99 without a memory card.

BD-ROM to be Mainstream BD Format in 2008
