Dell Inspiron 1420, 1720 now available with Penryn
The new 45nm Intel Core 2 Duo Penryn processors are now available in Dell’s Inspiron notebooks, including the 14-inch 1420 and the 17-inch 1720. Both the 1420 and 1720 are available with the T8300 2.4GHz processor ($175 upgrade), but only the 1720 is available with the higher-end T9300 2.5GHz CPU ($300 upgrade). The 15.4-inch Inspiron 1525 is not yet available with Penryn for an unknown reason.

Nvidia introduces QuadroFX 3600M graphics card
Nvidia recently unveiled its workstation-class QuadroFX 3600M graphics card for notebooks. It features up to 512MB of dedicated memory and a 256-bit memory interface for up to 51.2GB/s of memory bandwidth. The first laptop to feature it will be the HP Compaq 8710w mobile workstation, which currently runs north of $2,500.

Everex CloudBook shipments delayed
Shipments of the Everex CloudBook have been delayed due to a "recent heavy snowfall in China" according to a DigiTimes report. Shipments to Taiwan’s retail channel have been delayed until mid-March.
