Toshiba has added three new notebooks to its lineup. The new Satellite A70-256 and Satellite A60-166 use the newest Mobile Pentium 4 chips and the Satellite A60-156 is a budget machine that uses an Intel Celeron processor.

The Satellite A70 series notebook comes with a Mobile Pentium 4 3.06GHz processor, 60GB hard drive, 512MB of memory and a 15.4-inch wide screen, integrated 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi. The operating system included is Microsof XP Professional and the Microsoft Office OneNote software also comes bundled, a $199 value. The warranty included is 1-year parts and labor. This notebook is intended as a high-end performance machine yet it is still in a form factor that is mobile and so is not a pure desktop replacement. The Satellite A60-166 uses a Mobile Pentium 4 chip running at 2.8GHz. The Satellite A60-156 comes with a Celeron 2.8GHz processor, which is not as powerful as the Pentium, even though it has the same clockspeed. Both A60 machines, the A60-156 and A60-166 come with a 40GB hard drive (4200 RPM), 256MB of memory, 15-inch XGA screen, ATI Mobility Radeon 7000 with 32MB of shared video memory, DVD/CD-RW and integrated 802.11g Wi-Fi.
