An assortment of favorite PC games were developed while using the ATI Radeon HD 5000 series: Medal of Honor, Civilization V, Dragon Age: Origins, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and many more Microsoft DirectX 11 APIs. Next year PC gaming might get a quick boost with a new Radeon HD dual-core HD 6990, ‘Antilles,’ a competitor to the market’s current graphics card leader, the only-just-launched NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 580.

AMD recently spilled the roadmap for the launching of the “Vancouver” series of Radeon HD dual-core GPUs, now expected within the first few months of 2011, after a delay in launching this year. Even though the Radeon 6870 and 6850 refreshed the Radeon HD 5870 and 5850 at a lower price, the three new ones are expected to be even quicker than the GeForce GTX 580. NVIDIA expects to come out with new cards to race with AMD’s before the middle of 2011.
