It’s been mentioned a couple of times, but it looks like MSI might be finally ready to fully introduce their newest all-in-one system to the world. With an 18.5″ WSXGA touchscreen display, could this Atom-based nettop find its way into your house?
The newest addition to their all-in-one family, MSI’s new Wind Top AE1900 offers users an Atom 230 (single core, unfortunately) low power processor, a max of 2GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, webcam, DVD+/-RW, card reader and 802.11b/g/n wireless networking. The real attraction, however, obviously lies in the 18.5″ WSXGA touchscreen display, which, despite the underpowered CPU, may just give some trouble for Dell’s new Studio One 19. I got to play with one of these MSI nettops at CES and while they aren’t revolutionary, they work just fine. My only real gripe was that MSI didn’t have much in the way of touch-oriented software to lie on top of Windows XP, which may cause frustration for some users.
No price or immediate timeline for release has yet been proffered, this “announcement” was likely an accident, however, as MSI has already pulled the page from their site.
