We’ve visited this topic on a number of a occasions, and I’ve already called out the upcoming year as the one in which all-in-ones finally come into their own. MSI is adding more fuel to the fire with the new Wind Top AE2220, which improves upon their pre-existing all-in-one lines with one notable addition: multitouch. The new desktop looks a lot like their older all-in-ones; which is to say, basically like a white version of HP’s well-known TouchSmart line of products.
The new desktop features a number of standard-by-this-point options, but just because they aren’t new, doesn’t mean they aren’t respectable. The AE2220 offers up a 21.5-inch 1920×1080 multitouch (two-finger touch) screen, 4GB of DDR2, up to 640GB hard drive, NVIDIA’s GeForce 9300 integrated graphics, an HDMI port and eSATA. Best of all? It has an MSRP of $749, but Amazon currently has a preorder price of $699. That means it’s only $200 more than a ludicrously-priced standalone touchscreen monitor from Dell. In our eyes, there’s no contest.
