MSI Intros GX780 Gaming Notebook with SteelSeries Keyboard
MSI has introduced its latest gaming notebook, the 17.3-inch GX780 featuring a custom SteelSeries keyboard. Technical highlights of the notebook include a second-generation Intel Core i7-2630QM quad-core processor, Nvidia GeForce GT 555M graphics card, and a full HD (1080p) display. It supports up to 16GB of RAM and has dual hard drive bays. Other features include USB 3.0 and an HD 720p webcam.
The GX780 has custom Dynaudio speakers and THX TruStudio Pro surround sound. The biggest news with the GX780 notebook, however, is the SteelSeries-designed keyboard. Gamers will appreciate that the Windows key has been moved to the right side of the notebook. It has backlighting courtesy of 30 LEDs; up to 1,000 different color combinations are possible. On top of this, the keyboard has five different lighting modes; one mode only lights up the W, A, S, D, and Ctrl keys for gaming.
Another interesting feature of the GX780 is the “Turbo” button above the keyboard, which automatically overclocks the notebook to unspecified levels. It also has a Cooler Boost feature which increases fan speed.
