Most Popular Notebooks for October 2006

Each month we compile data for the number of times a particular notebook is viewed on this sites product pages to get an idea for what mainstream consumers are looking at and thinking about buying.  In October the HP dv6000t raced to the top of the charts and HP overall dominated the top 10 list.

dv6000t 1. HP Pavilion dv6000t (New to top 10) – The dv6000t gained popularity in a big way in October! No wonder though. It’s 15.4" widescreen form factor is the most popular type and the dv6000t is widely available in stores. The cool design of the dv6000t with its imprint finish and offering of a powerful Core 2 Duo processor and Nvidia 7400 graphics card make this Vista capable notebook a nice choice for a multimedia home PC. 2. Toshiba Satellite A105 (Previously #1) – The Satellite A105 has fallen from its top spot held for 3 months. The A105 is flexible in configuration and can be had for a cheap price of $520 with a Celeron processor. It’s a mainstream 15.4" screen notebook that’s by far the most popular size notebook for first-time notebook buyers.  The A105 can be configured with a Celeron, Core Solo, Core Duo, or Core 2 Duo processor — how about that for choice! Sony VAIO SZ 3. Sony VAIO SZ (Previously #3) – Performance in a small package, that sums up the Sony VAIO SZ. The bright glossy 13.3" display is powered by dedicated graphics and a Core Duo processor. Dell Inspiron e1505

2. Dell Inspiron e1505 / Inspiron 6400 (Previously #2) – Dropping a couple of spots, the Inspiron e1505, sold as the Inspiron 6400 through Dell business, is fully customizable and now includes the Core 2 Duo processor, a high resolution 15.4" display and several drive options. Acer Acer Aspire 5102WLMi - Turion 64 TL-50 1.6 GHz - 15.4


5. Acer Aspire 5102 (Previously #4) – The Acer Aspire 5102 is powered by theAMD Turion X2 dual core 64-bit processor.  The Aspire 5102 is a 15.4" widescreen notebook that can be had for a great price, around $900.  You get a 120GB hard drive, dual core processor, integrated web camera, 5-in-1 card reader and DVD Super Multi drive burner all for that price — amazing!  The 5102 is available in electronics retail stores everywhere. Lenovo ThinkPad T60 6. Lenovo ThinkPad T60 (Previously #5) – The ThinkPad T60 holds steady at #5, this month Lenovo refreshed the T60 and now it is available with either a Core Duo or Core 2 Duo processor. It comes with either a 14" or 15" standard aspect ratio display. This thin and light is all about business, featuring one of the best keyboards in the industry, dual pointing devices and optional integrated WAN. dv9000t 7. HP Pavilion dv9000t (New to top 10) – The HP dv9000t is new to the top 10, and reflects HP’s strength with consumer notebooks as it’s the second of four HP notebooks in the top 10. The dv9000t is a 17.1" screen notebook offered with the Core 2 Duo processor. It’s a definite desktop replacement category machine and offers a numerical pad on its keyboard, always nice to have. HP HP Pavilion dv2000t

8. HP Pavilion dv2000t (Previously #6) – The HP Pavilion dv2000t is a Core Duo or Core 2 Duo based 14.1" widescreen notebook from HP.  It’s got a great design in the form of a black piano and wave pattern finish.  Best of all it’s highly configurable at and if you want to see it in person you can go to your local electronics retailer to take it for a test run. dv6000z 9. HP Pavilion dv6000z (New to top 10) – What’s up with HP? They’re stealing the show in this months top 10. Anyway, the dv6000z is the counterpart to the dv6000t except it has an AMD Turion X2 processor. Sony Sony VAIO FE670G - Core Duo T2300 1.66 GHz - 15.4 10.
