Monster Vision Max 3D “Universal” 3D Glasses Unveiled

Monster Cable, the company behind high-priced audio and video cables, has stepped further into the world of consumer electronics with the release of their new Monster Vision Max 3D shutter glasses – designed to be the first “universal” 3D shutter system on the market.

The new Max 3D system involves a wireless pair of active shutter glasses and a corresponding transmitter that attaches to the HD display. Wireless connectivity is handled by ZigBee’s proprietary radio tech, and the glasses come with a rechargeable Li-ion battery.

While Monster proclaims that the glasses let users enjoy 3D content in “comfort, convenience and style”, they’re definitely charging users for the privilege.  Individual setups start at $250 and include a transmitter and pair of glasses; additional glasses will cost $170 each.
