On Tuesday Boston-based brand electronics designer Mimoco announced that it would offer pre-sales of the company’s limited edition 2013 San Diego Comic-Con USB flash drive. Mimoco will offer its limited edition stock USB flash drives to celebrate the company’s eight anniversary, after launching its first MIMOBOT USB drive back in 2005 at the San Diego Comic-Con expo.
In true Mimoco fashion the company will return to one of its longest running MIMOBOT lines with the iconic Star Wars franchise. Now in Series 9, Mimoco will offer a re-release of limited edition Chewbacca MIMOBOT with only a run of 1000 units, in up to 128 GB capacities, as well as in USB 3.0 speeds. As with all Star Wars x MIMOBOT drives, the USB sticks will be preloaded with bonus digital Mimory content including MimoDesk personalization suite of wallpapers, icons, and avatars, along with exclusive MimoByte sound software.
The new Series 9 Chewbacca variant MIMOBOT will employ a completely new design to the Series 1 Chewbacca, including the inclusion of a new familiar friend. A disassembled C-3P0 can be found strapped across the Wookiee’s back.
The limited edition USB flash drive is available now for pre-order on Mimoco’s web store. The drive comes in five different capacities starting at $20 for the 8 GB version, $27 for the 16 GB, $40 for the 32 GB with USB 3.0, $60 for the 64 GB version and $110 for the 128 GB variant.
