Microsoft may have just revealed the new suite of Office software – Office 2013 (codenamed Office 15) – but we’ve already got the tips and tidbits you need to know about the next generation of productivity software. Our sister site, TabletPCReview, got to spend some quality time with the new version.
It’s good. The new version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook have all been updated with an sleek new Metro feel that fits right in with the wild changes we’ve seen in Windows 8.
The downside? Touch. Despite being introduced at a time when much of Microsoft is focused on getting touchscreen interactions right, Office falls a little flat. It’s useable, but underwhelming. Despite this, Office 2013 still looks to be the best thing on the block when you need to get your work done.
