Microsoft just released the new LifeCam Studio, which stuffs a sensor capable of 1080p video down into one of their popular LifeCam webcams.
While no webcam software currently seems to support full on 1080p resolutions, Microsoft is releasing an update to their Messenger software in the form of Windows Live Messenger 2011. Until then, the cam is compatible (although not in 1080p) with software options such as Skype.
The LifeCam Studio lets users mount the cam on a tripod so it can be quickly swiveled to hit any angle in a room while a built-in wide-array mic snags accompanying audio.
Microsoft is partnering with BestBuy to make the LifeCam Studio an exclusive in their stores; it’s available on BestBuy.com now for $99.95, and it’ll be hitting brick and mortars early next month.
