Microsoft Family Pack Returns: 3 Windows 7 Licences for $150

While desktops are always popular with the DIY, build-your-own-system crowd, the operating system remains something of a problem. At a minimum $99 a pop, the so-called “Microsoft tax” makes big companies all the more attractive.

Fortunately, however, Microsoft feels the same pain of the recession as everyone else, and decided to bring back the Windows 7 Family Pack. The Family Pack was originally a limited-time offering circa the launch of the next-generation OS.  Microsoft, and pretty much everyone else, saw it as a way to boost sales of what might be a hard sell.

It became a wild success, too – not that Win 7 seemed to need it.

Once more, the Windows Experience Blog is stating that the Family Pack will be available only while “supplies last”, so if you need a new upgrade, or even a fresh install, you should move fast.

According to Engadget, Amazon has it for ten bucks off – only $47 a copy.
