Oce, a Canon Group company, and Toshiba TEC Corp. both announced technical partnerships with Memjet, a leader in color printing technologies that will result in the development of advanced printing products.
Dubbed Project Velocity, Oce is leveraging Memjet technology to develop a large format color printer the likes of which will change the landscape for the product sector. The new devices reportedly prints up to 15 times faster than conventional inkjet systems and is able to print up to 500 A0 prints at 1600 x 800 dpi per hour.
According to Oce, it brings its company’s expertise in hardware and workflow software for large format environments to the table while using Memjet’s high-speed inkjet technology. The product will also feature six addressable media rolls with intelligent switching and up to 120-meter capacity; and print CAD, GIS and Graphics in color.
Oce is an international provider of document management and printing solutions for professionals.
Toshiba is utilizing Memjet’s revolutionary page-wide printhead, controller chip, software and ink to develop multi-function products (MFPs) for the office. The MFP will feature a scanner, copier and color printer that produces high quality color pages at 60 pages per second.
The vendor expects its joint venture with Memjet to result in products that accelerate productivity and savings for businesses.
Oce and Toshiba are just two of more than half-a-dozen Memjet OEM partners making announcements at drupa 2012 in Dusseldorf, Germany.
